As the name dictates, SPEAR aims to spawn ground-breaking research results and prototypes for energy optimisation in industrial production processes. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The aim of this 4 years project is to build capacity (via Open Calls) amongst European stakeholders through the development of self-sustained, cross-border experiments that transfer knowledge and technology between academia and industry. The application domains targeted are digitized transportation, digitized agriculture, digitized environment and digitized anything.

Proyecto CARE: Development of an automatic control system for radon concentration in buildings.

The objective of this project is to give a comprehensive response to the needs of control of the radon concentration in buildings. The project will help reduce the incidence of lung cancer by guaranteeing indoor radon gas concentration levels below the performance values established by organizations such as the World Health Organization.

The project is part of the Challenges-Collaboration of the State Program for Research, Development and Innovation Oriented to the Challenges of the Society, within the framework of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2013-2016. Improve assistance and aging through a smart home with infrared sensors

The general objective of the project is to create a care home for the elderly that acts non-intrusively. The Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence technologies will be applied to create an innovative product that offers new services capable of solving the most common needs of older people living alone and their caregivers, both in terms of safety, comfort, care and well-being . This product will be designed together with the end users, both elderly and caregivers, to ensure its acceptability, validate its functionality and measure its impact. As a result, a new product will be obtained for exploitation in the elderly market (silver market).

S&C Role:  Coordination, definition of requirements of the care home, automatic recognition of activities, detection of anomalies, development of the alert system, integration of infrared sensors in the IoT solution, pilot in real environment, dissemination and exploitation.
