Europe is experiencing a new healthcare paradigm with the presence of both a growing elderly population and more people suffering from chronic diseases. Life expectancy is increasing as well as the need for long-term care. Institutional care for the aged population faces reduced budgets with consequent quality problems. To facilitate solutions for prolonging independent living, the European Union has awarded funding to an interdisciplinary research and innovation project called RADIO. Together with its project partners, S&C will expand its enControl™ IoT service platform to work with robots and other assisted living devices.
“The RADIO project will deliver solutions that are in line with the Europe 2020 Health Strategy, which is to turn the EU into a smart, sustainable and inclusive economy promoting growth for all”, says S&C’s CTO Alberto Fernández. Check out the press release here.
