The applications promised by RTLS are fantastic, but unfortunately traditional active RFID systems can only accurately position when asset tags are within short range of their “Readers”. Active RDFID tags typically need to be within 5 to 10m of the reader. At transmission distances greater than this, the positional error of these systems increases greatly.
Our Trilateration system allows positioning of tags to within 2m accurately across large transmit distances (upto 1km.) We measure the time of flight of a transmitted signal from transmission nodes to the reception node to generate performance a leap ahead of traditional RSSI active RFID and WiFi based positioning systems.
This Trilateration facilitates accurate positioning in 2D, or 3D without the need to install multiple, costly readers across a facility. Trilateration allows for hassle free, accurate positioning without the need for expensive analysis & extension of a site´s exisiting ActiveRFID/WiFi router RF coverage.
Combined with IP protected ‘clustering’ technology as well as other positioning technologies (such as inertial sensors) We achieve a great accuracy improvement over current, traditional activeRFID systems at cost reductions of upto 70%.
